*Third time is a charm for the 8th Texas Classic Car Show benefiting *The Make-A-Wish Foundation* for terminally ill children. Two rainouts into cooler weather, additional entrants totalling 280+ cars, trucks & motorcycles, plus a huge visitor turnout made this the biggest show ever.
*All the bells & whistles were there: Sponsor booths, entry gift items, vender give aways, prize drawings, class trophies, on-site radio broadcasting, TV coverage, plenty of shuttle parking, plus Rudy's BBQ & IHOP's close by food, drink & comfort stations. Another sign of sucess was the first ever congestion on both sides of 183N from all the gawkers slowing down to get a look at all the flashing chrome & paint.
*TexasRxs drew our share of attention with stock, modified & custom 2 & 3 rotor examples of 1.3-2.0 Liters from 200-550hp, an LS2 V8 Hinson conversion & a cut-away rotory engine display table. We demonstrated the unique continuous combustion principal of dear old Dr. Wankel that used no pistons, valves, cams, timing belts, etc. And,.......we gave away Halloween candy; probably the suckers did it.
*We were outnumbered by the Cobra Club for "Best Club Participation", missing some of our regulars -Oun R., Randall E., Steven C., Bobby M., Tito R., Mike W. Dave P., Bernie S. & Sarah W. with schedule conflicts. Still, Ted Schenck & his FrankenRXV8 won "Best-In-Show Nose Bra" (the only one there) & a coupon for paint touch up. Saved our honor, he did !!
*Thanks to John Long @Automotive Specialist & Trey Pool @Dent Works who generously sponsored our entries; we passed out many of their business cards & coupons. Also, Joe Chotiros provided the finishing parts to complete the engine display which generated much interest in rotary power.
*We especially recognize Alan Waters & co. for their time & work putting on
this event. It was a big diverse show, very professionally organized, w/complete facillities, wonderful weather, many exciting vehicles, and lots of happy gear heads of all ages. Brilliant !! We're on again for next year. Pics to the Forum ??

**********UPDATE: See (www.TexasCCS.com) 2009 Photos.**********
NEW PHOTOS of our cars & display appear under "Texas RXs", "Displays" & "Engines". It seems that Derrick Berg's 3-rotor, Ron Brother's custom 2nd gen. & our Engine Display Table were the big attention getters. Sorry Ted; your so nice 3rd gen.LS2V8 must have confused lookers with it's way too many extra engine parts. Maybe it was the nose bra, but we love your FrankenRXV8 anyway.
