*The weather man said "partly cloudy, clearing by mid morning". HE LIED !! It was so #&*+=$x%@* cold I left the top up. But, it didn't rain, so off we went the back way w/8 cars-7s, 8s, a 240, Mustang, Honda & 12 people. All went well until CR221 (on MSN Map Point) didn't appear on GPS. Stopping @Cedar Creek, Derrick (3rotor) found it on Google, but too late & we re-routed to Lockhart.
*Black's was warm, smelled so good & we had a big table to ourselves. All the BBQ, sides & deserts were excellent. The "New Beef Ribs" were huge & scary @1-1/2 lbs each, but delicious. Imagine how big the cow (RIP) must have been.
*Just a short hop, & we arrived @Dick's Classic Garage/San Marcos. TexasRxs paid the admission for current members & got 50% off for everyone else. All smiles !! This brand new, 1st class museum has only 80+- cars, but all are mint condition, vintage/classic Concours D'Elegence level & best examples of Dusenburg, Auburn, Cord (mirror-black cnvt. roadster) Stutz, Studebaker, Tucker, Lincoln, Cadillac, Chrysler, Ford, Chevrolet, etc. & one slick racing Austin Healey. All works of art; even our ladies auxilliary was awed. Finally, they....get it !!
*After the World's Greatest BBQ, The Golden Age of Automobiles & good company, we left contented for home by mid-afternoon w/only 1/2+- tank used. Thanks to all who came in spite of marginal weather & made this event very special. For those who couldn't or just didn't (duh, doh !!) make it, see what you missed @(www.BlacksBBQ.com), (www.DicksClassicGarage.org) & the Forum Pictures when posted. Ted, Jerry, Sarah, Oun, Evan, Dave, Steven, Chris, Wayne, Joseph-don't miss the next one. We know where you live !!
